History of Wedding Rings

Since ancient times, marriages have been symbolised by the wearing of a wedding ring. The exchanging of rings as a symbol of your never ending love (the fact that a ring goes around and around, it’s a circle). So you are handing your unending love to the one you are marrying.

The Western tradition of the "ring finger" began with the Romans, who believed that the third finger was connected directly to the heart by a vein called "the vein of love." For this reason, the third finger of the left hand has been adopted through the ages as the ideal place for the wedding ring.
